Pick of the Day: Travis Jensen Photography

Travis Jensen moved to San Francisco by himself in the summer of 1997, fresh out of high school. He describes himself as “at risk” in those days, living hand to mouth as he roamed the legendary hills with his skateboard. He survived, and along the way, traded in the skateboard for a camera. Nowadays, he uses his camera (and his Instagram) to create starkly dramatic images of the people who inhabit the City by the Bay.

His photos have also been compiled in several books, including “Wish You Were Here: The Street Snaps” — $10 from each sale is being donated to Larkin Street Youth Services, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization that provides various support services for at risk youth.
