Your Google Reader Feeds and Folders Are Safe [Update]

mp

See the update below.

There were reports this morning that the preservation of feeds from Google Reader, which was retired yesterday by Google, did not work on Flipboard.

Don’t worry: your Google Reader feeds and folders are safe. The summary feed is not working yet for some users, but it will work soon. In addition, some feeds may be missing content, but this is also temporary. Our system just needs some time for the all content for all feeds to populate. Our team is working on it, and the content will be available soon. We’ll update this post as soon as we have more information.

Thank you very much for your patience with this transition.

UPDATE: If you are still not seeing all your RSS feeds or some of your feeds are slow to load or outdated, please try the following troubleshooting steps.

If you are on iPhone or iPad:
Please try quitting out of multitasking. To do so, press the home button on your device twice, this will bring up a bar at the bottom of the screen with the icons of all active apps. Tap and hold any icon until a “-” appears in the top left corner. Tap “-” on your Flipboard to exit.

Restart your device by holding down the power button, swipe to power off. Turn back on and try Flipboard again. Allow the initial content load to complete before opening any sections. You’ll see the spinners going while the update processes.

If you are on Android:
Please open the Application Manager on your device, select Flipboard, clear the cache, and force stop to quit the app. Restart your device by holding down the power button. Try Flipboard again. Allow the initial content load to complete before opening any sections. You’ll see the spinners going while the update processes.

If these steps do not improve your feeds, then please send an email to support@flipboard.com with the following information:

1. Your Flipboard user name
2. The email address on your Flipboard profile
3. Your Google Reader ID
4. A few examples of feed URLs you saved in Flipboard, that are still missing, slow, or outdated

We will forward your information to the team for further investigation.
